Mike is a highly accomplished athlete and fitness professional with a long-standing passion for sports and physical wellness. His impressive sporting career began in the eighth grade as a 103# wrestler, and throughout high school he excelled as a dual letterman.
Notably, he qualified for states and was named third-team All-Dade in wrestling, while also demonstrating his football prowess by leading his team in sacks (10.5) in only seven games. His impressive athletic abilities earned him a full scholarship to the University of Central Florida, where he served as a starter at Defensive End during his junior and senior years.
After graduation, Mike played FB/LB for four years in the Arena Football League, winning a championship with the Orlando Predators in 2001. He has also achieved recognition as a CrossFit athlete, competing in several local competitions and the 2010 CrossFit Regionals. In addition to his personal successes, he has also coached hundreds of group and personal clients over his career, helping them to achieve their fitness goals.
As a true pioneer of the South Florida CrossFit movement, Mike co-founded I Am CrossFit in 2008 and opened six total locations over the next eight years. He is also the co-founder and organizer of the Crush Games, a nationally known fitness competition. Furthermore, he launched Formulx supplements in 2011, known for its all-natural, grass-fed whey protein.
Mike is not only an accomplished athlete and entrepreneur but also a career firefighter/paramedic for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, where he was promoted to Driver Engineer.
Outside of his demanding professional commitments, he spends his time researching the latest science in training, attending fitness and general nutrition conferences, and staying at the forefront of cutting-edge developments in the field.
